London Irish have signed Leinster lock Bob Casey.
The 23-year-old, capped five times by Ireland, will link up with the Exiles in time for next season.
‘‘While we support the Irish Rugby Football Union in keeping players at home, in special cases such as this where a player wants to broaden his experience by playing elsewhere for a couple of years, we are pleased to offer him the chance to do so,’’ said London Irish rugby director Conor O’Shea.
‘‘We believe that Bob has the ability to compete at the highest level of club and international rugby, and are delighted that he is joining us in July.’’
Casey’s signing was confirmed on the same day as Irish’s back-row forward Chris Sheasby agreed a new one-year contract.
