All-Black great Zinzan Brooke is considering an offer to join Leinster as assistant coach.

The former New Zealand number eight, who more recently was coach at Harlequins, has confirmed he has held discussions with Leinster’s director of rugby Matt Williams.

Brooke, currently playing for National League club Coventry, expects to make a decision by the end of this week.

‘‘I had a good chat with Matt (Williams) at the weekend and I was impressed with the set-up,’’ Brooke told BBC Sport Online.

‘‘It’s a position that is certainly attractive. Leinster have started to show all their qualities under Matt.

‘‘They’ve got a top-quality side, but it’s a decision I’ll have to make with my family.’’
