AIB League: Internationals come to Blackrock's aid

The second half introduction of Irish internationals Bob Casey and Paul Wallace made the all-important difference in this crucial AIB League Division One tie at Stradbrook.

Blackrock’s fourth try from man of the match Gavin McCarthy ensured them a bonus point that brought them to a point behind College in the table.

The students must have been contented to turn around a 20-8 in arrears at the break.

This was not a substantial lead given the strength of the wind assisting Blackrock.

Two quick penalties from Eoghan Hickey made it 20-14 by the 44th minute.

But, Casey and Wallace had the desired effect at scrum and line out and scrum half Ben Willis and McCarthy drove over for tries.
