Six Nations: Hearing for Magne over alleged stamping
France's stand-in captain Olivier Magne could face a lengthy ban when he appears at a Six Nations disciplinary hearing in London on Tuesday.
Magne is accused of allegedly stamping on the head of Denis Dallan during France's victory over Italy.
The Six Nations Committee will consider a report from Matt Bayliss, the independent commissioner at the game, even though Italy have made no formal complaint.
Bayliss decided to instigate the case against Magne, from Montferrand, after studying video evidence, despite Italy's coach Brad Johnstone indicating after the match that they would not be citing the player.
Johnstone said: "We have discussed it and decided not to take it any further."
International Rugby Board guidelines suggest a ban of between 21 and 182 days for stamping.
Arrangements are being made for Magne and his representative to appear before a three-man panel but the venue and time have not yet been finalised.
