A rib injury will keep Shane Horgan out of the Six Nations clash against Wales.
The decision on the Leinster player was confirmed this afternoon after a medical.
The Irish squad will play Wales in the Lloyds TSB Six Nations Championship in Lansdowne Road on Sunday, February 3.
Rob Henderson (Munster) has taken Horgan’s place in the senior squad.
