Even at the age of 30, the seasoned David Humphreys knows he will be on trial when he collects his 37th cap against Wales in the opening Lloyds TSB Six Nations match at Lansdowne Road.

Not even an impressive tally of 269 points from his 36 international appearances is enough to guarantee the Ulster ace a regular run for his country in the number 10 jersey.
