Heineken European Cup: Kidney names an unchanged Munster
Munster coach Declan Kidney has named an unchanged team for Saturday’s crucial final Heineken Cup pool game against Castres.
Kidney will field the same side which drubbed Harlequins 51-17 in Limerick last Saturday as Munster bid for a victory in France which will secure a home tie in the quarter-finals later this month.
And in a further boost to Munster’s cause, Kidney and his selectors have named as substitutes four of the players who missed last weekend’s match through injury.
Second row Paul O’Connell and Irish international trio Rob Henderson, David Wallace and John Hayes have all recovered sufficiently to feature on the bench, although front row star Hayes will face a further fitness test on his injured shoulder and neck tomorrow evening when the Munster squad arrives at their hotel in Toulouse.
Martin Cahill stands by to replace him on the substitutes’ bench if he fails the test.
Munster team: D Crotty, J Kelly, M Mullins, J Holland, A Horgan, R O’Gara, M Prendergast; M Horan, F Sheahan, P Clohessy, M Galwey, M O’Driscoll, J Williams, A Quinlan, A Foley.
Substitutes: J Hayes or M Cahill, J Blaney, P O’Connell, D Hegarty, D Wallace, R Henderson, J Staunton.
