Clontarf were pushed all the way by Galwegians in this AIL clash at Castle Avenue this afternoon.

Clontarf 36-22 Galwegians

Clontarf were pushed all the way by Galwegians in this AIL clash at Castle Avenue this afternoon.

Unbeaten in all competitions since early November, Clontarf opened up a 17-3 lead with tries from Mike Walls and Warren O'Kelly.

But they then went 22 minutes without scoring in which time Galwegians managed to reduce the arrears with Mervyn Murphy's converted try bringing the visitors to within a point.

However, Clontarf fullback Dave O'Brien managed to put a bit of distance between the two with his fourth penalty of the afternoon on 71 minutes.
