Six Nations: Wood, Stringer doubtful for opening game
Ireland are facing the prospect of starting this year’s Six Nations competition without captain Keith Wood and scrum half Peter Stringer.
Both players have already been ruled out of the Heineken Cup clash between their respective clubs, Harlequins and Munster, this Saturday.
Wood is expected to be out for a month with a neck injury, while Stringer has broken a bone in his heel, an injury that also forced him out of the Celtic League final between Munster and Leinster.
Ireland’s first Six Nations game is on February 3rd, against Wales in Lansdowne Road
