AIB League: Galwegians secure first home win
Galwegians 20, Landowne 16 (full-time)
Galwegians got their Division One campaign back on track with a first home win of the season against Lansdowne.
Down by 13 - 16 and facing another defeat, the home side manufactured a try from deep inside their own 22, five minutes into injury time.
It was a sickening blow for Lansdowne who had taken the lead for the first time since early in the first half with just seven minutes remaining.
Galwegians had led 13 - 5 at half time courtesy of a try to prop Peter Bracken, and eight points from the boot of Eric Elwood, while Lansdowne's points had come from an Anthony Ronan try after eight minutes.
The Dublin outfit had inched their way back into the match in the second half with a try from left-wing Fiachra Baynes and two Alan McGowan penalties before Duffy¹s magic sealed the game in favour of the home side.
