Rugby: Cunningham forced to bow out

Ulster full-back Bryn Cunningham will be sidelined for between four to six weeks due to injury.

Ulster full-back Bryn Cunningham will be sidelined for between four to six weeks due to injury.

He received a stud injury in the match against Stade Francais last weekend at Ravenhill.

The Ulster bosses have watched a tape of the match and say they will not be citing any of the French players.

The incident occurred in the 31st minute and forced Cunningham to undergo an operation under general anaesthetic for a deep wound to his leg which required an estimated 30 stitches.

According to team manager Joe Miles, the tape did not capture the incident so Ulster will not be taking the issue any further with the ERC.
