AIL Rugby: Blackrock record deserved win over Shannon

Three first-half tries inspired Blackrock to a deserved six-point win over a
depleted Shannon side at Thomond Park.
Blackrock recovered from a slow start to gain control of the game by half
time.
Winger Melvin McNamara gave Shannon the ideal start with a try after eight
minutes.
However, Blackrock hit back strongly to gain control.
Tries from Nathan Turner, Gary Browne and winger Andy O'Neill saw the
visitors into a 19-13 half-time lead.
A penalty goal from winger Conor Kilroy helped 'Rock into a nine-point
advantage 20 minutes into the second half.
Two further penalty goals from Shannon's Tom Cregan brought the home side to
within three points of 'Rock with a quarter of the game still remaining.
However, a second penalty goal from Kilroy set the seal on a deserved
Blackrock victory
