Lynn Howells has returned to Pontypridd as head coach after two years at Cardiff.

Howells is back with the Sardis Road club after serving as Dennis John’s assistant for eight years, a period which saw the club achieve some of its greatest successes.

He has also been a member of Graham Henry’s management team in the Welsh national set-up for the last three and a half years, a position he relinquishes in November.

Howells said: ‘‘It is with great pride that I take up the position as head coach of Pontypridd.

‘‘The club has always been close to my heart and coming from the Rhondda I know what it means to the supporters and community to have a successful rugby team at Sardis Road.’’
