Rugby: Corry thrown in at the deep end
Martin Corry will make his Lions debut against the Queensland President’s XV on Tuesday after being called up as a replacement for stricken Scottish forward Simon Taylor.
Leicester and England back-row man Corry was due to arrive in Townsville later today after being summoned from England’s tour of Canada.
And he will line up in a side showing 14 changes from the one that crushed Western Australia 116-10 two days ago.
Taylor, who suffered a knee ligament injury during that game, is already on his way home.
Wales prop David Young will captain the team, with England centre Will Greenwood being the solitary player retained from last Friday.
Among those making their first appearances of the 10-match trip are England pair Jason Robinson and Matt Dawson, together with Scottish lock Scott Murray and Welsh flanker Colin Charvis.
