The Scottish hooker, Gordon Bulloch has been called up to the Lions squad after England’s Phil Greening was forced to cry off the tour.

Greening sustained a knee injury during training with the Lions and must now return home to England without having played a game for the combined British and Irish team.

The Lions won their first game of the tour earlier today against the semi-professional, Western Australia side.

Four Irish players featured in the starting line-up for the 116-10 win, with Keith Wood captaining the side.

Ronan O’Gara scored 26 points at out-half. Brian O’Driscoll and Malcom O’Kelly also performed well.

It was a record win for the Lions side and it will help build confidence ahead of the rest of the tour.
