Lions Tour: Henry expected to name O'Driscoll at full back
Lions coach Graham Henry is expected to unveil his first major surprise of the tour when he names Irish centre Brian O'Driscoll at full back for the opening match.
Despite having two fullbacks in England's Iain Balshaw and Matt Perry, Henry will use O'Driscoll at number XV against Western Australia on Friday to help give other players a run-out, according to reports.
As O'Driscoll is virtually certain of starting the first Test at centre, Henry's decision may also be an attempt to throw Australia off track as the build up to the series continues to gain momentum.
Nevertheless, it sure to be a key talking point as Henry attempts to find a winning combination behind the scrum.
Elsewhere and in true Lions style, assistant coach Andy Robinson claimed that all 37 members of the touring squad were good enough to make the Test side.
Robinson said that over the next seven days reputation would count for nothing.
"Every player has the ability to perform, otherwise they wouldn't be here," Robinson said.
"We know we have talent. Now it's up to they players to show us how much they want it."
