Ian McGeechan praised his pack and half-backs as the architects of Scotland's nerve-jangling 23-19 Six Nations win over Italy at Murrayfield.

There may have been little in the way of technical skill on display but, the Scots could rely on goal-kicker Duncan Hodge who weighed in with a vital five penalties and a drop-goal.
