Victory over Bruff helps UL Bohs advance to Munster Senior Cup final
Between Bohemians’ spot in Division 1B of the All Ireland League and Bruff’s in Division 2C there are 24 other clubs, but there was nothing much between the teams on this occasion.
Certainly, the Limerick city outfit deserved their win, but Bruff made a brave fight of it and recovered brilliantly from a 15-3 half-time deficit to push the winners all the way.
It was nip and tuck throughout the second half, with Bruff throwing down the challenge once they grabbed a crucial try to leave just seven points between the teams – that is until that late, late match-clinching score.
Bohs had first-half tries from Mark Brommell and James Ryan, a penalty and conversion from Mullally in the first half, with Bruff’s only score coming from a David O’Grady penalty. Cian Ryan’s classy second half try kept Bruff in the contest until Scannell and Mullally combined late on.
