Centurion Rory Best an inspiration ‘on and off the pitch’

Andrew Trimble paid tribute to Rory Best ahead of his 100th Test cap this weekend but the wing suspects the Ireland captain will do his utmost to deflect any praise coming his way.

Trimble, 32, has played alongside the 34-year-old hooker for his entire career at both Ulster and on the Test stage and no-one will be more proud than him when Best leads Ireland out at the Aviva on Saturday to reach a century of international appearances.

“I’ve had an awful lot of experience being led by him as a captain and even before he was a captain he was always a guy who spoke and people listened, who commands respect,” Trimble said.
