Andrew Conway is confident Munster’s home defeat to Cardiff Blues has served as an ideal kick in the behind ahead of tomorrow’s Guinness Pro12 trip to Newport Gwent Dragons.

The full-back looks set to continue in the back three when director of rugby Rassie Erasmus names his matchday squad this afternoon having made a try-scoring first appearance of the season in Cork last Friday on his return from a cruciate knee injury and a series of pre-season niggles. It marked the end of a frustrating pre-season for Conway, who suffered rib, neck and groin issues after rehabbing the grade 2 MCL injury sustained in the final game of last season. And he says the 24-23 defeat to the Blues, coming after a strong away win at Scarlets, means Munster have this week been revved up and looking to make amends at Rodney Parade.
