Sean Reidy: Ulster bidding to get the job done

Ulster aim to avoid looking over their shoulders when they face Ospreys tomorrow afternoon in the final league weekend of the Guinness PRO12 season.

Sean Reidy: Ulster bidding to get the job done

Flanker Sean Reidy, who has hit a rich vein of form in recent weeks, says they will target a bonus-point victory to guarantee a play-off spot and not be reliant on results elsewhere this weekend.

He revealed: “We have talked about stretching the scoreline, trying to score as many as we can and keeping their scores to a minimum. That is the goal at the weekend,” said New Zealander Reidy, whose father hails from Kerry.

“Ospreys have a class outfit and they did a good job on the Cardiff Blues at the weekend. We know we have to match them physically and hopefully get the result.

“The bonus point is at the back of your mind but you just have to build on the basics. “You don’t want to think too far ahead or you will just be chasing things and doing silly offloads and stuff. If you do the basics well then I’m sure the bonus point will come down the track. Maybe in the past we haven’t taken our chances.

“It’s a critical time of the year so every opportunity we get we have to fully grab it with two hands.”

Meanwhile, Kingspan Stadium will host an international fixture between the Barbarians and Fiji on Friday, November 11.

This match will form part of the Barbarians’ Autumn Tour, which will also see them play against South Africa at Wembley six days earlier.
