Second half tries ensure Munster Junior Cup victory for Crescent in replay

Crescent College Comprehensive 17 CBC Cork 7: Crescent Comprehensive finally beat their Munster Schools Junior Cup bogey when they proved too good for Christian Brothers College Cork at Thomond Park this afternoon.

This replayed final, after a 16-16 draw in Cork three weeks ago, was always well contested, but Crescent’s superior ability out wide won the day and they grabbed two excellent second half tries to overcome CBC who had held a 7-5 half time lead.

Crescent lost the last three finals after winning two on the trot in 2010 and 2011; last year they lost to Christians, so today was an opportunity for revenge.
