Munster A team make 10 changes

Dependent on team selection higher up, Munster A coach Mick O’Driscoll has rung the changes for tomorrow’s British & Irish Cup game with Yorkshire Carnegie in Lockwood Park, Huddersfield.

Munster A team make 10 changes

O’Driscoll makes 10 alterations to the squad involved in the defeat of Ospreys Premiership Select in the last round, with three front rows making their first B&I Cup starts; Brendan Quinlan, Eddie Rossiter, and Peter McCabe who returns from injury.

Shannon’s Lee Nicholas comes in to join the Academy’s Sean McCarthy in the second row with Sean Doyle joining Jordan Coghlan and captain Shane Buckley in the back row.

Having rehabbed a long-term hamstring injury, fly-half Johnny Holland makes a welcome return, while Dan Goggin is another promoted to a start – teaming up with Cian Bohane in midfield.

The final two changes are seen in the back three with Gerhard van den Heever and Stephen Fitzgerald playing on the left and right wings respectively. Should he feature from the bench, Young Munster’s Shane Fenton will make his first B&I Cup appearance.

In second place and just a point adrift of Yorkshire, Munster have a real chance of qualifying.

A win tomorrow would seal the deal, even though it might take another week to decide who finishes first or second in the pool.

Leinster’s team to meet Moseley in Pool 1 shows six changes in the starting 15, with Billy Dardis at full back, Steve Crosbie in the centre, Darragh Fanning on the left wing, and Nick McCarthy starting at scrum-half.

Jeremy Loughman comes in at loose head prop and David O’Connor in the second row.

Another win will see Leinster qualify automatically and it would also give them home advantage in the last eight.

They could still afford to lose and go into the quarter-final given they have a round six game at home against Rotherham Titans to wrap up the pool section of the campaign.
