Skibb look to halt champions Clonmel’s charge

If the first weekend is anything to go by, this season’s Munster Junior League should be another captivating campaign. Some early favourites started off impressively and will be aiming to follow up their opening-day victories.

Defending champions Clonmel don’t seem to be resting on their laurels, as they produced a superb display to easily overcome the challenge of Galbally. They have the same impressive mix of power and pace, with plenty of skill thrown in, and should be the team to stop again. They face a tough trip away to a confident Skibbereen side without the injured Luke Cadogan.

The West Cork side got off to a winning start against local rivals Bandon, with Denis McCarthy the hero, as he kicked the winning conversion. McCarthy will again need to be accurate with his kicking if his team are to cause an upset, but the side will relish the chance to challenge the league champions.
