Peter O’Mahony: I’m ready for Belfast showdown
Although head coach Anthony Foley wasn’t quite as dogmatic about the state of his captain’s damaged hip flexor, O’Mahony went a long way towards reassuring the Red Army after yesterday’s squad session at Thomond Park.
“Yeah, I will make the weekend,” said O’Mahony. “It was touch and go last week, but I came through. I was more sensible than anything in that we had just scored a try and I was feeling a bit sore when I came off. I took today off because of the week that’s in it and I’ll be fine for Saturday. Today, it was feeling good but the rest of the body was a bit sore... kind of the joys of this time of the year when you’re performing at 90% at best.”
