Connacht turn on the power
Connacht maintained their push for Champions Cup rugby with a convincing bonus-point winning display.
Pat Lam’s men secured their ninth Pro12 win with a seven-try haul. Connacht wrapped up the fourth try and bonus point by the 57th minute.
Fullback Tiernan O’Halloran, in his first start, kickstarted the try feast and out-half Craig Ronaldson added the first of his 18 points.
He added two penalties before Treviso struck through centre John Samuel Christie for a deserved try.
It was one-way traffic in the second half, with flanker Jake Heenan touching down, and Ronaldson converted to give the home side a 20-5 lead.
Matt Healy, grabbed the third try on 51 minutes, finishing off a sparkling back-line move, and the bonus arrived with a try by prop Denis Buckley. Ronaldson added both conversions for a 34-5 lead. Before the end Muldowney, Healy’s second, and Danie Poolman crossed the line for a convincing win.
