Powerful Munsters brush off weak Thomond challenge

Prospects of an upset were effectively ended by the third minute when Munsters’ powerful number eight, Sean Rennison, scampered over for the first of the home side’s three tries.

Limerick Charity Cup winners Thomond, who are flying high in Division 2A of the All-Ireland League, had to no answer to the intensity, power and pace of their 1A opponents, as fit-again centre Kolio Hifo added an exciting mix of physicality, high work rate and pace to Munsters’ midfield.
