Ireland had never won before on Argentinian soil but it is a measure of the standards now demanded that Irish skipper Paul O’Connell was disappointed with the level of performances shown in claiming both of these summer tests.

O’Connell feels Ireland needed to push on from winning the Six Nations and that neither last week’s 29-17 win or Saturday’s 23-17 success, wrapped up by an Ian Madigan try, could camouflage things.
