Castletroy quick to take command

Castletroy coach Martin Burke stressed that they were “well mentally prepared for a Glenstal side for whom we have a lot of respect. Glen came at us as we knew they would and while we made every use of the wind in the first-half, we lost our way a little in the second.”

It was a highly enjoyable game, the two sides helped in their efforts by the superb G-4 all weather UL pitch. The conditions were largely well nigh perfect, the snow, hail and sleet showers having passed off earlier in the day. However, Castletroy were helped appreciably by the wind in the first half before it dropped in velocity, much to Glenstal’s frustration.
