Tuohy out as Ireland nursing ‘bumps and bruises’

Replacement lock Dan Tuohy remained the only casualty from Saturday’s 26-3 win over the defending champions, having had a fracture of his right forearm confirmed yesterday.

The Ulster man, who replaced captain Paul O’Connell after 54 minutes at the Aviva Stadium, was on the field for just 10 minutes when forced to return to the sidelines. He had surgery in Belfast yesterday to stabilise the fractured radius. His province last night said that he faces “eight to 10 weeks” out of action.
