Foley walks a mile in Paulie’s shoes

It’s a big ask to step into Paul O’Connell’s shoes but that’s what Munster’s up-and-coming second row Dave Foley did this week — literally.

While speaking to the press this week ahead of Munster’s RaboDirect Pro12 game on Friday night in Ravenhill, a glance at his boots showed they were monogrammed POC for Paul O’Connell.

The Tipperary native has been biding his time in the province’s second row succession stakes and turned down moves abroad to fulfil his Munster dream. Expected to start against Ulster he admitted learning so much from O’Connell and the rest of Munster’s leaders.
