Jones to miss Munster’s crunch clash

Felix Jones has been ruled out of Munster’s Rabodirect Pro12 top of the table clash against Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun Stadium on Friday night.

Jones to miss Munster’s crunch clash

The full back has been sidelined with an ankle strain which forced him to be replaced after 58 minutes of the Heineken Cup win over Gloucester.

Ironically Jones’ replacement Denis Hurley sustained an injury subsequently and will undergo a scan on his left knee to identify possible medial ligament damage.

Donnacha Ryan who was forced off with a knock to his knee will also undergo a scan and meet with a specialist before his prognosis is confirmed.

Niall Ronan (sprained ankle) who was ruled out the morning of the Gloucester game after failing to pass a fitness test will continue to be monitored as the week progresses.

There was positive news for Luke O’Dea (wrist) at the weekend as he had 30 minutes of game-time for the first time since March, lining out with his club side Shannon against Dolphin in the ODM Munster Senior Cup.

Ian Nagle (foot), Tommy O’Donnell (knee), Paddy Butler (thumb) and Simon Zebo (foot) all continue with their rehabilitation programmes.
