Penney promises Munster response

Munster head coach Rob Penney believes his players will be embarrassed into a rebound against Gloucester next Saturday following their shock Heineken Cup reversal at Edinburgh.

Penney promises Munster response

Last year’s semi-finalists went into the Murrayfield Pool 6 opener as red-hot favourites against a struggling Edinburgh side yet came away on the wrong end of 29-23 defeat thanks to misfiring lineout, valiant Scottish defending and a series of critical errors that the home side capitalised on to maximum effect.

The defeat leaves Munster with little margin for error heading into their first home game of the European campaign against Gloucester at Thomond Park and they may have to contend without Lions wing Simon Zebo, who was helped from the field on Saturday after going down with an ankle injury.
