Murphy takes new role at Tigers

Geordan Murphy will remain at Aviva Premiership champions Leicester next season following his retirement and form a new backs coaching team with Paul Burke.

Murphy, who retired after a 16-year career at Welford Road at the end of this season, will assist Burke, who will take over as backs coach following Matt O’Connor’s move to become head coach at Leinster.

Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: “By bringing Paul and Geordan together in the coaching team we have a degree of continuity which I feel is very important and we look forward to their continued development in their new roles.”
