Wood on interview panel

Former Test captain Keith Wood was one of the four-man panel interviewing candidates for the vacant Ireland head coach post.

Harlequins and Ireland hooker Wood, is one of two independent consultants on the interview panel along with an as yet unnamed representative from international sports marketing agency CSM.

IRFU chief executive Philip Browne and National Team Review Group chairman Martin O’Sullivan were the in-house interview panel members who are believed to have seen Leinster head coach Joe Schmidt and interim Ireland head coach Les Kiss in person last week. Outgoing Queensland Reds head coach Ewen Mackenzie is understood to have been interviewed from Australia via teleconferencing.
