Mark McCall has confirmed his intention to remain loyal to Saracens despite being linked as a possible successor to Declan Kidney in the role as Ireland head coach.

McCall staying loyal to Saracens

The former Ulster player and coach guided the English club to the last four of the Heineken Cup with a dominant defeat of his native province in Saturday’s quarter-final and backed up the words of his chief executive Edward Griffiths who distanced him from the national role last week.

“Do you know something, it is hard to talk about something you haven’t been offered or no-one has spoken to the club about or spoken to me about it,” said McCall in Twickenham two evenings ago.

“So I have a brilliant job at Saracens and I have a couple of years after this. It has been an unbelievable journey this last four years and I intend to be part of the next couple of years after this.”
