Jackson wants to put boot in again

Paddy Jackson believes he has got his kicking radar back in focus and is hopeful of getting another chance from Declan Kidney this week.

Jackson wants to put boot in again

Jackson put his Murrayfield nightmare behind him to kick seven from nine against Treviso ahead of Kidney’s decision to leave O’Gara out of the squad and said: “I was happy to get a few kicks over. It is good to have two games where I am kicking back-to-back. It has been a while since I have done that.

“I think I just want to get back into the swing of things and get kicking more regularly. Obviously it didn’t go well for me last week so I was happy to get a few over,” said Jackson.

He missed his first kick from 45m on the left but then converted tries from Andrew Trimble and Stuart Olding, while landing a penalty in between. Jackson said that he did not change his approach going into Friday’s clash.

“I just try to relax really. I can’t really read into anything anyone is saying about me or tweeting about me or whatever. I am kind of used to it now. I think I have dealt with it quite well. I have just got to trust in myself and know I can do the job, so that’s what I tried to do.

“If I get another chance then I’ll be very happy. I’ll just see how it goes and not get ahead of myself.”
