Con bid to conquer high-flying Garryowen

The traditional rivalry between Cork Constitution and Garryowen alone will push today’s Ulster Bank League clash at Temple Hill into the must-see category.

And the fact that Garryowen top the league with Con in fourth will add even more spice, according to Light Blues skipper David Sherry.

“Going back years, I’d remember as a kid Con winning the first AIL by beating Garryowen, and later on the simple rivalry between the clubs,” he said. “There was a spell a few years ago when there were three or four draws and the odd narrow win either way, it’s what you come to expect when playing against Con.
