O’Brien hoping to avoid sanction

Sean O’Brien faces an anxious wait to see if he has avoided the citing commissioner’s glare for an off-the-ball tackle on Clermont’s Sitiveni Sivivatu during Saturday’s game.

The Leinster No 6 was yellow-carded after the late tackle on the New Zealand winge. Should he be cited for committing a 10.4(a)offence, O’Brien can expect a ban of two to five weeks.

The Carlow man had only recently recovered from surgery to repair cartilage in his hip damaged during the tour of New Zealand.
