Biarritz sack coaching duo

Biarritz coaches Jack Issac and Serge Milhas have been sacked following their side’s Heineken Cup loss to Connacht.

Laurent Rodriguez and Mathieu Rourre have been placed in temporary charge by Serge Blanco, after backs coach Issac and forwards coach Milhas were removed. Club president Blanco had been critical of the team’s recent performances and, after a dreadful 2011-12 season, they have not been much better in this campaign and are currently mid-table in the Top 14.

The 22-14 loss to Connacht at the Sportsground was the last straw for Blanco, whose team are now nine points behind pool leaders Harlequins. They will host Connacht in their return match this weekend at the Parc des Sports Aguilera.
