The former Scotland fly-half booted the Galway outfit into an early lead but the Dragons fought back and dominated the scoreboard as both sides failed to cope with the driving rain and were undone by errors as aerial ping-pong prevailed.
The Dragons levelled through Tom Prydie after Jason Harris-Wright was sent to the sin-bin after interfering at the breakdown.
