Pumas star Figallo gets three-week ban

Argentina prop Juan Figallo was yesterday banned for three weeks after being found guilty of “charging into a ruck or maul” during his side’s 39-22 defeat to France in Lille on Saturday.

Tight-head Figallo had initially been cited for allegedly head-butting France lock Pascal Papé. Judicial officer Roger Morris upheld the citing.

The entry point suspension for such the offence is five weeks, but Figallo was allowed the maximum of two weeks’ mitigation to reflect his “exemplary previous disciplinary record and his conduct at the hearing”. He has been banned for three weeks and is suspended until December 9, but has the right to appeal.
