Poolman’s timely return

Former Stormer Danie Poolman makes a timely first start for Connacht against Italian visitors Benetton Treviso at the Galway Sportsground today (5pm).

Poolman’s timely return

The South African came on as a replacement last week against the Ospreys but with Mata Fafita and Eoin Griffin ruled out, Poolman’s recovery is a much-needed boost for Erc Elwood’s side.

Poolman, who partners a fit-again Dave McSharry, is one of six changes for tonight’s final Pro 12 fixture before the break for the autumn internationals, and good news also is the return from Irish training camp of both Mike McCarthy and Tiernan O’Halloran. Robbie Henshaw moves back to fullback, while captain Gavin Duffy returns from injury to take his place on the bench.
