Munster must wait for Stander

Munster’s hopes of versatile back-rower CJ Stander arriving early in Ireland have been dashed as his Blue Bulls side have secured a Currie Cup semi-final spot in South Africa.

Entering last weekend’s final group games, the Bulls sat in last place in the six-team competition, but with their Springbok contingent returning to the side, they destroyed league leaders Golden Lions 50-29 to seal a spot in Saturday’s semi-finals.

Stander has been in electric form for the Pretoria outfit all season and bagged four tries on his Super 15 debut campaign, while his Currie Cup form playing across the back-row has impressed the Munster staff. He is due to arrive next month.
