Young Munster, winners for the past three seasons, remain on course for another Limerick Charity Cup final appearance following their 26-14 semi-final win against great rivals Garryowen at Clifford Park last night.

However, their win was tempered by a first-half injury to Munster player Johne Murphy.

It was 6-6 at the interval with Willie Staunton and Jamie Gavin exchanging penalties.

In the second half, Young Munster scored tries through Ger Bourke and Tom Goggin, with Staunton converting both.

He then landed two more penalties for a personal tally of 16 points.

Garryowen scored a late try by Corie Hircock but it came far too late to rattle young Munster.
