Munster rugby mourns Fitzgerald

Former Munster Branch President Cyril Fitzgerald has passed away at the age of 72.

The Dolphin clubman served eight years as a Munster delegate to the IRFU from 2002 to 2011 and was elected president of the Munster Branch for season 2010/11.

“Munster rugby would like to extend their deepest sympathy to his wife Veronica, his children Geraldine, Edward, Jill and Aiden, his brother John and sister Edna.”

Reception prayers take place on Monday at 11.30am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Ballinlough followed by Requiem Mass at noon. Funeral afterwards is to St Oliver’s Cemetery, Model Farm Road, Cork.

All Dolphin club activities at Musgrave Park for the weekend have been cancelled as a mark of respect.
