O’Gara pledges Munster loyalty after fake tweet

O’Gara had to deny reports that he was about to quit his native province and move to the moneybags French Top14 outfit after a bogus Twitter account in his name claimed: “Breaking news guys.. wanted to leave it until after six nations. Just been confirmed moving to Toulon on a two year deal!”

The 35-year-old fly-half, a second-half replacement in Ireland’s 30-9 defeat to England at Twickenham, responded via his official Twitter account,@RonanOGara10, claiming he was committed to Munster and that the fast-spreading news was “inaccurate”.

“Yesterday was embarrassing and I will always be a 1 club man. A proud munsterman,” O’Gara tweeted yesterday, followed by: “Earlier tweet was in relation to inaccurate reports... Love playing for Ireland and munster.. Nothing has changed..”
