Crescent on revenge mission against PBC
Having won the last two junior cups, the Limerick school are now seeking to end a 17-year senior cup drought. Their first task is to topple Cork powerhouse Pres, who are locked with rivals CBC at the top of the roll of honour on 28 titles and have contested the last three finals.
Ireland U18 fly-half Gearóid Lyons makes Crescent tick while other stars include number eight Jack Dineen and wing Greg O’Shea, sons of coaches Len Dineen and Niall O’Shea respectively. Pres saw off Crescent in the 2011 semi-final and have six players returning from last March’s 9-3 final defeat by Rockwell. The back row unit of Paul Derham, Will Foley — who played at hooker last term — and skipper John Fitzgerald provide the know-how up front, with Seamus Glynn, Rory Scannell and Steve Dinan the men to watch behind.
