A lot done, a lot more to do, admits realistic coach McGahan

TOPPING their Heineken Cup pool with a four-match unbeaten record by the Christmas break must have been high on Tony McGahan’s wishlist at the start of the campaign, but the Munster coach will be looking for considerable improvement as the province set about consolidating their position in the New Year.

A lot done, a lot more to do, admits realistic coach McGahan

McGahan, along with home fans in the 26,000 sell-out crowd at Thomond Park yesterday, was left anxiously watching the clock tick down to full time, and was mightily relieved at the end.

He admitted: “The clock hasn’t been our friend for four games and that’s a big thing for us — to control the scoreboard and the clock. We work so hard for our points and then we let the opposition straight back in, with three points or field position. If we aim to go further in this competition, we need to make sure we recognise that.”
