Munster injury woes continue as flanker O’Mahony ruled out of Scarlets showdown
The back row, who has impressed in only his second season at senior level, went off at half-time in Saturday’s game against the Scarlets.
An x-ray confirmed he had a hairline crack to the jaw and will be sidelined for the next two weeks.
O’Mahony joins David Wallace, Jerry Flannery, Doug Howlett, Mike Sherry and Felix Jones on the injury list. There was good news for Keith Earls, who is expected to return to full training this week and could be included in the Munster squad for the weekend, while Peter Borlase (back), Dave O’Callaghan (knee) and Sean Scanlon (neck) all returned from injury in the British & Irish Cup win over Ayr in Tralee RFC. Ivan Dineen (knee) also returns to training this week.
